PTD turns out to be a treat.
All the problems I have been having for 32 years with my S&S B grand piano (difficult playability, hard to play ppp, heavy and uneven touch, ugly tone in the fortissimo etc.) have been solved in one go by PTD, which has recently been installed by Frans Pietjouw.
Touch has become a lot lighter and extremely regular, suddenly my grand piano does exactly what I want it to do, playing ppp suddenly works, playing difficult pieces is a lot easier because of an improved repetition and an even touch, playing together with other musicians is a lot easier because of a better balance), in short, playing solo as well as together with others has become a real treat on this grand piano.
I feel the most fortunate pianist in the world and this fortune I wish to all those without PTD.
This experience has convinced me that a great many piano-players can be made happier with PTD applied to their grand piano.
